It’s a well known fact that liquidation & clearance stock is great if you can get your hands on it. It’s not uncommon for liquidated products to be sold for less than their wholesale price, simply because the wholesaler/manufacturer/retailer/liquidator is just desperate to get rid of the excess stock.

Providing the products are reasonably popular, & not some ghastly marketing mistake from the 70s or 80s (that no one thinks is collectible yet), there are huge profits to be made on this type of stock.

You must however do your market research before hand - it is not a smart move to just buy the products for whatever you can get them for & then turn around & try to sell them for a profit on eBay, at markets or your own retail store. Check how much the products are selling for in your chosen marketplace, & then decide on the maximum price you can afford to pay & still leave yourself a reasonable profit margin (after fees, tax etc.).

Anyway, I found a new (well, not 100% new) source for liquidated/overstock products just the other day that I thought I’d share with you. I’m sure many of you know of the large auction houses in Australia that tend to speciliase in liquidated stock. Some of them sell online now & have been doing so for ages, but some have only just ventured onto the net.

One of those that has just ventured onto the net is Evans Clarke National. So what kind of products can you find?

Some of the online auctions that they have on at the moment include a massive lot of new stationery (inc. paper, folders, pens, paint, ink cartridges, even soft drinks & much more), tradesman tools (new & ex-lease), new 42″ plasma TVs, plus the usual ex-lease computer equipment & more.

Now Evans Clarke Auctions are located in South Australia, but if you don’t live in SA, that’s not a problem. If you purchase some stock at one of their online auctions, all you need to do is organise for a courier to pick up the stock you’ve purchased within 24 to 48 hours. Or, if you want to, Evans Clarke Auctions can organise a courier for you.

So have a look at their site, www.evansclarke.com.au, & see what bargains you can find for your business today.
